Target

Today: the movie-theater industry.
Tomorrow: the world.

Impact

The WavePass™ brand launch was at ShoWest, the annual movie-theater extravaganza in Las Vegas.

Thousands of WavePass cards – some preloaded with prizes – were given to attendees, who came to the booth in droves.

The booth, divided into a home environment and a theater lobby environment, was the site of a real-time demonstration of the WavePass Internet Movie-Ticketing System. Visitors used web technology to load movie tickets and concession items onto their WavePass cards in the home setting and then waved the cards over readers for instant theater admission and concession checkout.

The demonstration was a technical tour de force: the first-ever successful marriage of contactless smart-card technology and the web. It was created by Faron Melrose Communications and our strategic partners at Strataquest, Inc. And it was a raving success.

In addition to the trade show presence, Faron Melrose created and executed a coordinated barrage of advertising (take a look), PR, and event capers which brought about instant brand recognition at the show, followed by serious interest from some of the biggest names in the industry.
